Thomas Cox
I am in my fourth year of study at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am majoring in Chemistry and will also obtain my teacher certification.

I am currently an Associated Students of University of Nevada (ASUN) Senator representing the College of Education. I also work in the Ice Core Major Chemistry Lab at Desert Research Institute under Joe McConnell, Ph.D., where IÝam currentlyÝworking on my Senior Thesis.

I hope to graduate in May 2009 with a BS in Chemistry with Teacher Certification and then complete my required teaching internship the following semester. The past two summers I have been an instructor for the Crazy Chemistry course for the Kids University summer program held at UNR.

As a prospective teacher, specifically a science teacher, I am very interested in constructivism and plan to incorporateÝan activity-oriented class and creative instruction methods.
