When I was a junior at Ocean Springs High School, I took AP Chemistry. This was the class that inspired me to become a chemistry major, and my
teacher, Mrs. Parrot, was the person who inspired me to become a
chemistry teacher. I did really well in the subject and I especially
loved doing the labs. Mrs. Parrot's enthusiasm for chemistry was
obvious, and that furthered my liking for the subject. When I become a
teacher, my goal is not to persuade everyone to just love chemistry, but to encourage students' enthusiasm for any subject they enjoy. I
want my students to see my excitement for chemistry and mirror it in
their own lives.
