Teal Danielle Hart
My name is Teal Danielle Hart. I want to be a chemistry teacher for several reasons. First of all, I love to help people. Nothing makes me feel as complete as helping a person do something or figure something out. I was a tutor in high school, and I love the feeling I would get when the person I was helping understood.

I also want to be a teacher because my dad is a teacher. He has taught math at high schools for over 20 years. He absolutely loves his job, and I love to listen to him talk about it.

I want to be a chemistry teacher because I love chemistry. For some reason, I have always been good at chemistry. It just comes so natural to me. Chemistry is such an integral part of our everyday lives that its practical applications are obvious. Chemistry is required in so many walks of life, such as medicine and cooking, that almost everyone needs a basic understanding of it. For these reasons listed above, I really want to be a chemistry teacher. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life teaching high school students.

Theresa Marchioni
My name is Theresa Marchioni. Basically, I want to teach chemistry because I think it is a fascinating subject and I want to be able to spread my excitement for it. If I'm lucky, maybe i"ll help to inspire the next generation of scientists. I didn't always want to be a chemistry teacher. To be honest, the idea never crossed my mind until late in my junior year of school. I was incredibly interested in chemistry, but was hesitant as to whether I wanted to spend the rest of my life in a lab. I wanted to work with people and chemistry.

I was involved in a chemistry out-reach group that put on chemical demonstration shows for local elementary schools. After one of the shows, a member of the audience asked if I was going to be a teacher. I had no clue how to respond because the idea was so new to me. I told them I wasn't going to teach, but it didn't take long for the idea to grow on me. To sum myself up: I am an avid and enthusiastic lover of chemistry with a flare for the dramatic and a hint of leadership. I would like nothing more from my career than the chance to share my enthusiasm with others and open some eyes to the wonders of the world around is.
