Robert Cunningham
I have a family rich with teachers. Both of my parents, my grandfather, my great grandparents, my uncles and aunts, and my cousin are or have been university professors and high school teachers. I have taught at technical college, volunteered to teach at ST. Mary's and taught Sunday school. I have found the work to be well suited to my unique blend of presentation, patience, and listening skills. Working with my complex situations fro various students challenges my skills in a stimulating way I find rewarding. I am a cancer survivor and chemo-therapy saved my life. Using my teaching skills to help others understand and join the chemistry field is the least I can do. Since I have an awareness of my mortality, I feel my commitment is serious and lasting.

Jordan McCann
My name is Jordan McCann and I am a chemistry and science education major from Roswell, GA. Aside from school, my interests include spending time with family and friends, photography and being outdoors. In addition to these things, I truly love learning and studying chemistry. My interest in chemistry began in my high school chemistry class. This was the first class that I felt the self satisfaction of working hard to understand something difficult. I studied a lot and my interest in chemistry and my confidence in my abilities grew. This is one thing that I hope to be able to teach the students in my future classes. I want to teach them that with hard work every one of them can understand chemistry and do well. Prior to receiving the Hach scholarship, I was a science education major. Because of this scholarship, I am now double majoring in science education and chemistry. I am certain that this scholarship is going to deepen my content knowledge, which will hopefully make me a more confident and effective teacher.
