After high school, I first attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. As in high school, I did well academically and achieved a 3.4 GPA majoring in chemistry. I chose this major in part because my grandfather and great grandfather were Ph.D. chemists. Moreover, I had a knack for chemistry and was fascinated by the discipline. I left Bucknell because of my discontent in the social aspect of the college and region. For the next four years, I worked in a retail pharmacy as a lead pharmacy technician. Fed up by the monotony, I had to pursue a more fulfilling career. It was then that I revisited the inspiration I experienced from my former educators. I decided that I would attend Florida A&M University to complete my degree in Chemistry Education. Since coming to FAMU, I have earned a 3.94 GPA. I have attended the 11th and 12th Annual NASA Pre-Service Teacher Conference. During the 12th Annual Conference, I led a team of 4 students who won first place in a lesson-plan poster and presentation contest out of about 60 colleges and universities. Additionally, I am a member of the Golden Key Honour Society.
