Cynthia Emrick
I am a senior attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where I plan to obtain a B.S. in biochemistry. I hope to pursue my interest in chemistry by teaching high school chemistry. I grew up in a home of teachers. My mother is a science teacher and my father teaches business. I was always taught that teaching is a moral responsibility to motivate and inspire the next generation. I would like to teach science because it is a course that teaches a learning process as opposed to other subjects that have a static solution. By teaching science, one can teach students how to solve problems they have never encountered before because of the thought process that is developed through the scientific method. Instead of regurgitating information based on previous experiences. I look forward to my new career teaching chemistry and am extremely appreciative of the Hach Scientific Foundation for the support.
